The outputs havethe TRI-STATE feature. When enabled, the outputs exhibitthe low impedance characterisTIcs of a standard LS outputwith additional drive capability to permit the driving of buslines without external resistors. When disabled, both theoutput transistors are turned off presenting a high-impedancestate to the bus line. Thus the output will act neither asa significant load nor as a driver.
