In January 1977, The United States governmentadopted a product cipher developed by IBM as its officialencryption standard [1]. This algorithm, called theData Encryption Standard (DES), has been adopted asa worldwide standard for data encryption by ISO (InternationalStandards Organization) [2, 3].
