The PX3538 digital mulTIphase controller provides corepower for today’s high current microprocessors by driving upto six synchronous-recTIfied buck-converter channels inparallel. Interleaved TIming of the channels results in a higherripple frequency, reducing both input and output ripple. Withup to six phases, each capable of up to 2 MHz operaTIon, thePX3538 can be used to build DC-DC converters that provideup to 200A with excellent efficiency, low ripple, and thelowest component count.The PX3538 utilizes digital technology to implement allcontrol functions, providing the ultimate in flexibility andstability. The PX3538 incorporates an industry standard I2Cbusserial interface for control and monitoring. Through theserial interface, the power supply designer can quicklyoptimize designs and monitor system performance. Theinterface allows the PX3538 to provide digitized informationfor real time system monitoring and control.The PX3538 provides superior loadline accuracy throughinternal calibration that measures and corrects current senseerror sources upon startup. The PX3538 has programmablecurrent sense temperature compensation that allows thedesigner to tailor the response for best loadline accuracyover temperature. Superior loadline accuracy reducescomponent count and solution cost.
