The Primarion Di-POLTM PX7520 Power IC is a highlyconfigurable Digital Point-of-Load (POL) Controller with twoPWM outputs for use in high current buck convertertopologies. Up to four controllers from the Primarion Di-POLfamily can be synchronized for mulTIphase operaTIon. ThePX7520 provides PMBus™ compliant POL power regulaTIonand supports current sharing and interleaving of mulTIplechips to balance the power supply currents.The PX7520 utilizes digital technology to implement allcontrol functions, providing the ultimate in flexibility andstability. The PX7520 incorporates an industry standardPMBus™ compliant serial interface for control andmonitoring. Through the serial interface, the power supplydesigner can quickly optimize designs and monitor systemperformance. The interface allows the PX7520 to providedigitized information for real time system monitoring andcontrol.The PX7520 provides superior accuracy through internalcalibration that measures and corrects current sense errorsources upon startup. The PX7520 has programmablecurrent sense temperature compensation that allows thedesigner to tailor the response for best accuracy overtemperature. Superior accuracy reduces component countand solution cost.
