The MCS® 251 microcontroller is Intel’s next generation MCS 51 microcontroller. The first product in the MCS 251 architecture, the 8XC251SB, is binary code and pin compatible with current 8XC51FX microcontrollers. Utilizing an instruction pipeline and a register-based architecture, the 8XC251SB CPU can execute some instructions in the shortest time of one state compared with six states in the 8XC51FX.
