With the recent proliferation of analog-to-digital converters(ADCs) and digital-to-analog converters (DACs), and thevariety of digital coding schemes which they use, has comea need to understand these different coding schemes whichconverters use to talk to the “digital world”. The purpose ofthis article is to describe the individual coding schemes usedwith ADCs and DACs manufactured by Burr-Brown, andexplain their relationships.Following this text is a list of abbreviations and definitionsintended to clarify any questions regarding the nomenclaturewhich has been used.
