Low Noise, Low Power I2C® Bus, 256 TapsThe ISL90841 integrates four digitally controlledpotenTIometers (XDCP) on a monolithic CMOS integratedcircuit.The digitally controlled potenTIometers are implemented witha combinaTIon of resistor elements and CMOS switches. TheposiTIon of the wipers are controlled by the user through theI2C bus interface. Each potentiometer has an associatedWiper Register (WR) that can be directly written to and readby the user. The contents of the WR controls the position ofthe wiper.All four potentiometers have one terminal tied to GND. TheDCPs can be used as a resistor divider or as two-terminalvariable resistors in a wide variety of applications includingcontrol, parameter adjustments, and signal processing.
