The TMP17 is a monolithic integrated circuit temperature transducerthat provides an output current proporTIonal to absolutetemperature. For a wide range of supply voltages, the transduceracts as a high impedance temperature dependent current sourceof 1 μA/K. Improved design and laser wafer trimming of theIC’s thin-film resistors allow the TMP17 to achieve absoluteaccuracy levels and nonlinearity errors previously unattainableat a comparable price.The TMP17 can be employed in applicaTIons from –40C to+105C where convenTIonal temperature sensors (i.e., thermistor,RTD, thermocouple, diode) are currently being used. ExpensivelinearizaTIon circuitry, precision voltage references, bridgecomponents, resistance measuring circuitry, and cold junctioncompensation are not required with the TMP17.The TMP17 is available in a low cost SOIC-8 surface-mount package
