The HIP0080/0081 Quad Power Drivers contain fourindividually protected NDMOS power output transistorswitches to drive inducTIve and resisTIve loads such as:relays, solenoids, injectors, AC and DC motors, heatersand incandescent lamp displays. The 4 Power Drivers arelow-side switches driven by CMOS logic input controlstages. Each Output Power Driver is protected againstover-current, over-temperature and over-voltage. Aninternal drain-to-gate zener diode provides the clampingprotecTIon for over-voltage. DiagnosTIc circuits provideground short, supply short, open load and thermal overloaddetection for each of the 4 output stages. Each of the 4input drivers and their respective diagnostic filters arecontrolled by one ENABLE input.The inputs are CMOS logic compatible and individuallycontrol the output drivers with an active high state for turnon.All other control inputs are active high with theexception of the Chip Select (CS) which is active low. TheDATAIN (DI) and DATAOUT (DO) are positive logic and theClock (CLK) input for the Serial Interface is active on therising edge of the CLK pulse. All Inputs except the HIP0080ENABLE have a nominal level of hysteresis. IN1, IN2, IN3,IN4 and ENABLE have pull-down resistors ofapproximately 100kΩ. This switches off any channel thathas an unterminated input.
