The LM3407 is a constant current output floaTIng buck switchingconverter designed to provide constant current to highpower LEDs. The device is ideal for automoTIve, industrial andgeneral lighTIng applicaTIons. The LM3407 has an integratedpower N-MOSFET that makes the application solution compactand simple to implement. An external 1% thick-film resistorallows the converter output voltage to adjust as neededto deliver constant current within 10% accuracy to a seriallyconnected LED string of varying number and type. Converterswitching frequency is adjustable from 300 kHz to 1 MHz. TheLM3407 features a dimming input to enable LED brightnesscontrol by Pulse Width Modulation (PWM). Additionally, aseparate enable pin allows for low power shutdown. An exposedpad eMSOP-8 package provides excellent heat dissipationand thermal performance. Input UVLO and outputopen-circuit protection ensure a robust LED driver solution.
