The ISL6322G two-phase PWM control IC provides aprecision voltage regulaTIon system for advancedmicroprocessors and memory. The integraTIon of powerMOSFET drivers into the controller IC marks a departurefrom the separate PWM controller and driver configuraTIon ofprevious mulTIphase product families. By reducing thenumber of external parts, this integration is optimized for acost and space saving power management solution.One outstanding feature of this controller IC is itsmulti-processor compatibility, allowing it to work with both Inteland AMD microprocessors. Included are programmable VIDcodes for Intel VR10, VR11, as well as AMD DAC tables. Aunity gain, differential amplifier is provided for remote voltagesensing, compensating for any potential difference betweenremote and local grounds. The output voltage can also bepositively or negatively offset through the use of a singleexternal resistor.The ISL6322G includes an I2C interface, allowing thecontroller to communicate with other devices over an I2Cbus. Signals sent over this bus can command the ISL6322Gto adjust the number of active phases, voltage marginingoffset, phase switching frequency, overvoltage protectionlevels, and can select the integrated driver adaptive deadtime scheme.
