The LY530AL is a low-power single-axis yaw ratesensor. It includes a sensing element and an ICinterface able to provide the measured angularrate to the external world through an analogoutput voltage and I2C/SPI digital interfaces.The sensing element, capable of detecTIng theyaw rate, is manufactured using a dedicatedmicromachining process developed by ST toproduce inerTIal sensors and actuators on siliconwafers.The IC interface is manufactured using a CMOSprocess that allows a high level of integraTIon todesign a dedicated circuit which is trimmed tobetter match the sensing element characterisTIcs.The output of LY530AL has a full scale of ±300 °/sand is capable of measuring rates with a -3 dBbandwidth up to 88 Hz.The LY530AL is available in a plastic land gridarray (LGA) package and can operate within atemperature range from -40 °C to +85 °C.The LY530AL belongs to a family of productssuitable for a variety of applications, including:– Gaming and virtual reality input devices– Motion control with MMI (man-machineinterface)– Image stabilization for digital video anddigital still cameras– GPS navigation systems– Appliances and robotics
