The ADF7242 is a fully integrated low-cost, short-range, lowpowertransceiver for operaTIon in the global 2.4 GHz ISMband.The ADF7242 has been designed with emphasis onflexibility, ease of use and low current consumpTIon. The receivepath is based on a zero-IF architecture enabling high blockingand selecTIvity performance. The transmit path is based on adirect closed loop VCO modulaTIon scheme. The ADF7242features an excellent performance versus power consumptionmetric making it especially suitable for battery poweredsystems.The ADF7242 complies with the IEEE 802.15.4 –2006 2.4 GHzPHY requirements with a fixed net datarate of 250 kbps andDSSS-OQPSK modulation. With GFSK/FSK modulation theADF7242 also supports a wide range of datarates, and is henceequally suitable for proprietary applications in the areas ofindustrial control, home and building automation as well asconsumer electronics. The agile frequency synthesizer of theADF7242 together with short turnaround times facilitates theimplementation of FHSS transmission systems.
