The LM5069 posiTIve hot swap controller provides intelligentcontrol of the power supply connecTIons during inserTIon andremoval of circuit cards from a live system backplane or other"hot" power sources. The LM5069 provides in-rush currentcontrol to limit system voltage droop and transients. The currentlimit and power dissipaTIon in the external series pass NChannelMOSFET are programmable, ensuring operationwithin the Safe Operating Area (SOA). The POWER GOODoutput indicates when the output voltage is within 1.25V of theinput voltage. The input under-voltage and over-voltage lockoutlevels and hysteresis are programmable, as well as theinitial insertion delay time and fault detection time. TheLM5069-1 latches off after a fault detection, while theLM5069-2 automatically restarts at a fixed duty cycle. TheLM5069 is available in a 10 pin MSOP package.
