The LM5008 Step Down Switching Regulator features all ofthe funcTIons needed to implement a low cost, efficient, Buckbias regulator. This high voltage regulator contains an 100 VN-Channel Buck Switch. The device is easy to implement andis provided in the MSOP-8 and the thermally enhanced LLP-8packages. The regulator is based on a hystereTIc controlscheme using an ON TIme inversely proporTIonal to VIN. Thisfeature allows the operating frequency to remain relativelyconstant. The hysteretic control requires no loop compensation.An intelligent current limit is implemented with forcedOFF time, which is inversely proportional to Vout. Thisscheme ensures short circuit protection while providing minimumfoldback. Other protection features include: ThermalShutdown, VCC under-voltage lockout, Gate drive under-voltagelockout, and Max Duty Cycle limiter
