The LTC®4223 is a dual Hot Swap™ controller that meetsthe power requirements of the Micro TelecommunicationComputing Architecture (MicroTCA) specifi cation recentlyratifi ed by the PCI Industrial Computer ManufacturersGroup (PICMG).
The LTC4223 includes an internal pass FET for the 3.3Vauxiliary supply and a driver for an external N-channelpass FET for the 12V payload supply. Inrush current forboth supplies is controlled: the auxiliary supply has afi xed 240mA active current limit and the 12V ramp rateis controlled by an external capacitor. A timed circuitbreaker and fast current limit protect both supplies againstsevere overcurrent faults. It also features an adjustableanalog current limit with a circuit breaker timeout forthe 12V supply.
