Many of today’s high-resolution ADCs (Analog-to-DigitalConverters) are operating from a single supply and utilizefully differential inputs. This can be a problem for singleendedsignals that are bipolar relative to common. Thisarticle will illustrate circuit configurations that will preservethe full-scale input range by utilizing modern features, suchas Programmable Gain Amplifiers (PGAs) and internal voltagereference. It will also discuss issues that the designermust consider when selecting components utilizing thesesignal-conditioning circuits.
