The X40420/21 devices have a Power On Reset (POR)circuit, low voltage monitors for two supplies, an automaticswitch between a main voltage source and abackup supply, a watchdog timer, 4kbits of EEPROM anda fault detection register. Some of these features arere-settable, such as the POR time period, the watchdogtimer duration and block protection of the EEPROM. Allof these features make the X40420/21 very versitiledevices in a power supply management application.
