The EMC5755 is a complete linear charger for single celllithium-ion batteries. With small TDFN-6 package andfew external components, EMC5755 is well suited forportable applicaTIons. In addiTIon, the EMC5755 isspecifically designed to work within USB powerspecificaTIons.No external sense resistor and blocking diode arerequired. Charging current can be programmedexternally with a single resistor. The built-in thermalregulaTIon facilitates charging with maximum powerwithout risk of overheating.The EMC5755 always preconditions the battery with1/10 of the programmed charge current at thebeginning of a charge cycle, until 40μs after it verifiesthat the battery can be fast-charged. The EMC5755automatically terminates the charge cycle when thecharge current drops to 1/10th the programmed valueafter the final float voltage is reached.
