This document details the VHDL implementation of an 8051 microcontroller interface in a XilinxCoolRunner™ XPLA3 CPLD. CoolRunner CPLDs are the lowest power CPLDs available,making these CPLDs the perfect interface devices for many of today’s popularmicrocontrollers.
